Overview

Join an AMC Guide on an attempt to summit New England's highest peak, Mount Washington. At 6,288' the "rock pile" towers over the surrounding peaks and should be on everyone's bucket list. Often underestimated due to its low elevation for a summit above treeline, and it's relatively short mileage. Known for its extreme weather r including the highest land wind speed ever recorded, at 4.2 miles one way, this will be an exciting and challenging hike. There is no guarantee the group will reach the summit. Summiting will depend on the weather, the ability of the group and the trail conditions at the time. The AMC Guides will set a turnaround time, this is a group hike. ITINERARY •7:30 am Meet AMC guides; Gear Check •Hike up the Tuckerman Ravine Trail to the Summit of Mount Washington •Lunch on the trail •Hike down Tuckerman Ravine Trail, Lion Head Trail, Tuckerman Ravine Trail •5-6 pm intended wrap up PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS •Summiting the Highest peak in the northeast •Experience above treeline travel •Guiding by an experienced AMC Guide
