Family-friendly recreational paddle on the scenic Connecticut River in southern Vermont on Sunday June 30th, with a rain date of Saturday June 29. Join in on a 10 mile adventure from just south of Putney to the confluence of the West River in Brattleboro. This is a good first time event as well as a spectacular paddle for all experience levels. For those without access to a kayak or canoe, rentals may be available - contact co-leader Bonna Wieler ( or 802-274-0810 from 7-9 pm). Anticipated on-water time about 3-5 hours- bring lunch and plenty of water. There are refreshments near the take-out at the West River Marina in Brattleboro.

Deb has been hiking and paddling in New England for over 40 years. She was a whitewater trip leader for AMC in the 1980s. Her volunteer responsibilities include maintaining a section of Appalachian Trail (AT) in the Berkshires as well as serving as a regional coordinator for Women Outdoors, Inc. Her current outdoor interests are river paddling, sea kayaking, canoe camping, backpacking, and cross country skiing.

Dee is an enthusiastic lover of nature and the outdoors. She lived for 28 years on Martha's Vineyard where she kayaked regularly in the ocean along the numerous coves and through the waves all around the island. Currently she is a hiking and family programs leader with AMC Berkshire and a paddling leader with AMC Worcester.

Bonna teaches kayaking skills as an American Canoe Association kayak Instructor through summer camps, school programs, and Bold Paths Adventure. She leads day and overnight kayaking trips for AMC Worcester, and offers beginning kayakers a no-stress, supportive learning environment. She also teaches river curricula and consults, runs environmental and outdoor education workshops for school and after-school programs, and teaches team building and natural arts.
