Registration is required for this activity. Please contact leader(s).

Come explore the scenic river valley west of the Connecticut River, in the Pioneer Valley north of Amherst. This ride will be 30 miles in length, over flat to rolling terrain with a couple of short but steep hills. Total elevation gain over the ride is about 1200 feet. We will be cycling on quiet, well-paved country roads through lush farmlands, traveling through Hatfield, Whately, Greefield, Deerfield, and South Deerfield. We'll take a snack and restroom break in scenic Old Deerfield Village. The pace will be relaxed at 12-14 mph average, and we will keep the group together. We will regroup at various points along the way. We plan to complete the ride by 1pm so people can enjoy lunch (and maybe ice cream) at a local farmstand/creamee at the conclusion of the ride. You will need a road bike in good working order, a helmet, a fix-flat kit, water and snacks.

His bike is named Ulysses, inspired by the final line of the poem by Tennyson.
