Overview

Bring conservation messages, activities and awareness to local membership and communities. Be a member of AMC's Conservation Action Network (CAN). Receive and pass along information received from CAN as appropriate. Examples might be workshops, news and reports from AMC conservation staff and how chapters can support and promote them. Activities may include: Partnering with local conservation organizations on projects such as tree planting, clean-ups, trail work, and educational programming, Working with other committees in the chapter to help raise conservation awareness. Offer regular conservation workshops to raise and awareness and educate. Organize members to attend public meetings of importance to AMC. Serve as a member of the club-wide Conservation Committee, which meets twice a year. Assist in applying for Special Project Funds. Be familiar with the website www.outdoors.org/conservation. Attend Chapter Executive Committee meetings.
