Overview

Fly to Boise, stay 8 nights in Stanley, Idaho. Explore Sawtooth and White Cloud Wilderness areas. Hike 7 to 17 miles per day, gaining 1,600 to 3000 feet, at altitudes 6,500 to 10,000 feet. See wildflowers and wildlife, pristine lakes, jagged peaks and one panorama after another. Experience the unique terrain and mountain air as we climb to several divides and summits between 9,000' and 10,000'. Hike to the scenic Alice, Alpine, 4th of July, Born and Sawtooth Lakes. Cross over Baron and Ant's Basin divides. Summit Lookout Mountain (9,954'), Observation (9,151') and Horton Peaks (9,896'). Spend late afternoons relaxing at our inn or poking around town. Last two nights in Boise, with full day to explore the city.

Leslie joined the AMC in 2004, but didn't start hiking with the club until 2005. Once she started, she never stopped. She became a hike leader for the Southeastern Massachusetts Chapter in 2007 (and is now hiking vice-chair) and for August Camp. She has led four-season day and multi-day trips in New England for the past seven years.

Denise is an experienced Maine Chapter Trip Leader, Outings Co-Chair, and past YM Co-Chair. Denise is a 4-season hiker who has completed the New England Hundred Highest Peaks, all 48 NH 4k's in Winter and has hiked extensively in the Northeast.
