Leadership Training Skills: Train the Trainer This program is designed to prepare current AMC activity leaders to serve as facilitators at AMC leadership training programs and allow existing leadership training facilitators to bolster their facilitation skills. The primary focus is on how to train new leaders rather than on improving your own outdoor leadership skills. Participants will be provided with the AMC's Leadership Training Curriculum packet and receive valuable information on how to facilitate engaging and productive chapter leadership trainings. Following this program, you will be prepared to assist with leadership training programs offered by your own chapter or help other chapters with their leadership training programs. As a graduate of the program, you are encouraged to serve as a faculty member of AMC's Center for Outdoor Learning and Leadership (COLL), which develops high-quality leadership training resources and supports leadership training throughout the AMC Chapters. Major Learning Objectives: •Discover and utilize AMC's curriculum to enhance and improve your chapter's AMC Leadership Trainings. •Develop confidence to provide instruction on challenging topics such as DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) and Risk Management. •Learn and practice new (and fun!) facilitation methods designed to increase participant engagement and create deep and broad content retention. •Gain strategies to create a "Flipped Classroom" to increase participant productivity and skillset for short duration trainings (1.5 days or less). •Network with the COLL Faculty and other Leadership Trainers to build a community of support for your chapter's trainings. All participants will be provided with AMC's new Leadership Track curriculum package. This package includes the following: •A-la-carte lesson plans fully prepared for use with little preparation. •Electronic and print materials for reproduction in both high-tech and low-tech training environments. Electronic materials are both Mac & Windows compatible.
