Overview

Meet at 10:00 a.m. to launch by 10:20 a.m. from the Tyler Lake boat launch, 10 Park Road, Goshen. Peaceful paddle on a moderate-sized lake with the option for a paddle on a small pond located a short drive away. Tyler Lake will involve two loops totaling 4.8 miles, while Dog Pond will be two loops totaling 3.8 miles and may include the West Branch Bantam River if water levels are high enough. We will take a lunch break after the Tyler Lake loop, and then load our boats on the cars for the seven-minute drive to Dog Pond. Those who wish to paddle only Tyler Lake certainly have that option. Paddlers must provide their own boat and equipment. For safety reasons, paddlers must wear a zipped/buckled life jacket for the trip duration. With the cooler fall temperatures, kayakers should not wear cotton, and should bring an extra set of clothes in a dry bag in case they get wet. Bring lunch and water. Registration is appreciated, but not required. Rain cancels. Tyler Lake map at the first link. Dog Pond map at the second link.
