Join us for 8 days of day hiking Ireland's Beara Way and tour Dingle Peninsula. Journey through a magical land of mountains and lakes surrounded by a rugged and picturesque seacoast. The Beara Way is a long-distance walking route around the spectacular Beara Peninsula that stretches out from the southwest coast of Ireland into the Atlantic Ocean. Quite remote, it has remained perhaps the most unspoiled part of Ireland with active fishing villages, bucolic farmlands, and a large concentration of historical and archaeological sites. Listen to the Irish language spoken on Dingle Peninsula - the heart of Munster's Gaeltacht region in west County Kerry. The peninsula is dominated by the mountains that form its spine, running from the Slieve Mish range to the Conor Pass and Mount Brandon, Ireland's second highest peak. The magnificent coastline consists of steep sea-cliffs, and dramatic headlands broken by sandy beaches. The $2495 trip cost includes ground transportation, lodging, breakfasts and all except one dinner. A deposit of $1000 is due at the time of application, and $1495 by May 1, 2020.

Claudine leads hiking & multi-day hut trips for the AMC Boston and Delaware Valley Chapters. In 2019, she became an AT leader after co-leading an AT trip to the Matterhorn region of Switzerland. She holds an Irish passport and visited Ireland over a dozen times. The southwest coast is her favorite part of Ireland - raw, tranquil and unspoiled. She looks forward to exploring this beautiful country, drinking a pint of Murphy's and having a bit of craic!
