AMC's "Beginner" programs are designed to provide basic skills and knowledge to have a successful and enjoyable outdoor experience. Time is spent in the classroom and in the field putting your newly obtained skills to work. Explore the splendor of winter on snowshoes! AMC Guides will teach you the basics to start snowshoeing on a variety of terrain while being comfortable outside in the winter. Once comfortable with your new feet, we will then lead you on a guided trek through the White Mountains. Program Highlights: •Camaraderie of learning a new winter skill with other outdoor enthusiasts •Tips on winter travel by snowshoes, best snowshoes for activities planned, how to walk up and down hills •Animal tracking along the trails -moose, marten, fisher, snowshoe hare •Winter snowshoe clinics and explorations begin and return to the comfort of the mountain lodge at the base of Mt Washington •Potential snowshoe routes include sections of the Appalachian Trail in Pinkham Notch
