Overview

This trip is part of the Boston Chapter Winter Hiking Program (WHP) and is only open to registered participants of that program. If you would like more information about the WHP, please email us at whp19@hb.amcboston.org or follow the link below. Join us for a moderately paced hike up the east slope of Mt. Tecumseh, a 4000-footer in the Waterville Valley. This out-and-back hike will cover 5 miles and climb 2,300 feet. The mileage is low and the going mostly easy; the one prolonged steep climb is non-technical. There's a good lookout on the Waterville area partway up and a nice look at the Tripyramids from the summit. Our route is entirely in the trees, with a little weather exposure up high. This hike is ideal for someone in good hiking shape wanting to practice snowshoe/microspike technique.
