Overview

Come join us on a journey through the 100 Mile Wilderness to stay at two of AMC's beautiful remote Maine Lodges. On this two night excursion participants will enjoy winter at its best, skiing, snowshoeing, and enjoying winter in the comfort of our Lodges. AMC has over 90 miles of groomed cross country ski trails that are wide and winding through the magical ever green forests, next to rivers, ponds, and mountains. Come out to visit our lovely rustic style cabins, get outdoors even in these wintery flurries, and end our days with a relaxing sauna. This guided backcountry trip is designed to alleviate apprehensions participants may hold about traveling safely in the backcountry. Participants should be intermediate skiers or better. Each day of travel requires the guest to ski a minimum of 7 miles through remote areas where cell phone coverage is nonexistent and severe weather conditions are not uncommon. We will be outside in any and all weather for at least 4 hours a day. The guests are lodged in the bunkhouse or private rustic cabins with capacities ranging from two to twelve people. All cabins contain wood stoves, gas lights and beds. Bedding and towels are not provided at Little Lyford or the bunkhouse. Hearty breakfasts and dinners are served family style each morning and evening in the lodge dining room. Each morning lodge staff prepares trail lunches for each participant that are available after breakfast. Travel times will vary depending on abilities, weather and snow conditions. Come out and XC Ski in the Maine Wood in our very own winter wonderland.
