Overview

The beautiful Stanton Street Shul, normally closed to the public, will open their doors to AMC members and friends for a special viewing of an exhibit of Jewish Papercuts, a common art form since the middle ages. The exhibit features work by six contemporary artists who practice both traditional and modern interpretations of this ancient form. The papercuts are available for sale; a portion of the proceeds are donated to the shul. The exhibit curator, who is on staff at the shul as well as an AMC member, will show us around this well-preserved Orthodox synagogue constructed in 1913. Suggested donation: $5. Walk will follow synagogue visit. We will meet at 10:30 am at Delancey & Essex Streets. Please send me an email to register; I will send details with a confirmation.

I'm a long time AMC walks leader. I love to explore neighborhoods, parks and gardens in New York City and New Jersey. I take special notice of architectural detail, and public art. I look for opportunities to visit galleries, art museums and historic house museums. I welcome you to walk with me so that I can share the many discoveries I've made along the way.
