Overview

What better way to experience the vast Northern Forest than on a backcountry paddling trip for 40 miles along the remote waterways of the Northern Forest Canoe Trail! Visiting Mooselookmeguntic, Upper and Lower Richardson Lakes. This trip is ideal for teens who would like to challenge themselves by spending full days paddling a canoe and experience the serenity of a longer backcountry paddling trip! Day 1: After arriving at Pinkham Notch Visitor's Center, the group will get to know each other via fun games, pack gear, and prepare for the trip with the instructors, before enjoying lunch at the Pinkham Notch Trading Post. The group will set off after lunch, catching a shuttle to the northern end of Mooselookmeguntic Lake to start their 7-day paddle. Day 2-6: As the group paddles their way south along the Northern Forest Canoe Trail, they will travel 40 miles through waterways and forests protected by the state of Maine, while camping along the shores, finding plenty of time for dips in the lakes, and enjoying the company of the group. Day 7: After completing the last few miles of the paddle, the group will return to the Pinkham Notch Visitor Center for clean-up, good-byes, and departure at 3PM.
