The ability to apply basic backcountry first aid is vital for any outdoor enthusiast, whether it's for yourself or others. Moving beyond urban first aid, this course teaches the skills necessary to identify and treat medical issues common to wilderness settings and to prepare for long-term care scenarios. Includes hands-on practice and lectures. Upon completion, participants receive 16-hour Wilderness First Aid certification. This course may be used to recertify an approved current WFR certification. A CPR certification will be offered in the evening, this is optional and a $40 additional fee is required, paid directly to the SOLO instructor. Program Highlights: Focuses on the basic skills of: Response and Assessment, Musculoskeletal Injuries, Environmental Emergencies, Survival Skills, Soft Tissue Injuries, and Medical Emergencies Coverage of topics balances class-room instructional sessions with hands-on practice in the outdoors Nationally recognized certification for 2 years

Instruction Only: Instruction, handouts, lunches and WFA certification with successful completion of course- $164.00 *** CPR WILL BE offered by SOLO instructor, additional fee of $40 will be collected by instructor NOT by AMC. CPR is optional on Saturday after WFA class
