Overview

Concerned about fixing a flat while on the road? Want to know a little more about bicycle maintenance? Experienced AMC bicycle leavers will provide a hands-on bike maintenance workshop which will answer those questions. On past rides we have had numerous questions as to what to do in case of a flat tire (no, the answer is NOT walk home!), so we will concentrate of flat tire repair. We will also cover a basic pre-ride checklist, basic maintenance tools, general repairs, and bicycle fit. You should bring to the workshop the front tire from your bicycle to practice on along with the pump you use while riding (or cartridge, if that is the case). You may also want to consider some plastic gloves as tires can be especially dirty. Also bring your on-road tool kit. If you don't have one, we will provide some guidance as to what to include in a repair kit. This year the event will be held in Bow, NH at the Baker Free Library. Although this is a free event, registration is required. To register, or to receive further information, contact the event leader. Space is limited so reserve your space early.
