Overview

Learn basic self-rescue skills for trad climbing seconds. This skills building class is geared towards those who have completed our CT AMC "Intermediate Trad Climbing as a Second" class or as a refresher for experienced trad climbers. When an expected situation or emergency arises, the trad climbing second also has responsibilities to help self-rescue. Learn the following self-rescue skills during this class: • Ascending a rope • Other assisted climbing/hoist methods (from second's perspective) • Escaping a belay • Assisted rappelling methods (as a second) Space limited to 6 participants. MUST have also previously climbed at a CT AMC event and demonstrated proper belaying technique.

Climbed trad, sport and ice in several premier climbing areas around the country including The Gunks, Red Rocks and Ouray Co., and has also sport climbed in Spain and France. Summited Mt. Rainier and Mt. Shuksan (WA), Mt. Hood (OR), Grand Tetons (WY), and completed several winter ascents of Mt. Washington in N.H.
