Overview

Join us for a top rope climbing trip to Harriman State Park's Powerlinez climbing area. This event is focused around newer climbers with limited outdoor experience. The day will focus on getting participants accustomed to climbing outdoors on top rope, with an emphasis on proper outdoor etiquette, basic safety/awareness, and climbing technique. Register using the link below but note that we may not be able to accommodate all registrations due to capacity, leadership availability, or number of certified belayers. After registering using the link below, a trip leader will be in contact to confirm participation. Participants must be a minimum of 18-years old. Participants must also have: -Shoes -Harness -Ability to belay on a gri-gri (at least half of participants) -Food/ water -Comfortable clothes The approach to this climb is short--around 10 minutes--but we still recommend comfortable shoes. Note: Due to the ongoing situation with COVID-19 this trip may be postponed or cancelled closer to the date. Determination will be made entirely based on the policy of the AMC at the time of departure.
