AMC offers COVID conscious opportunities to enjoy the outdoors locally, visit many of our lodges and campgrounds, and join virtual events and activities. Participants of all in-person events should bring and wear face coverings, expect social distancing, and changes to our usual practices. To support contact tracing and hands-free signing of the AMC liability waiver, online registration is required for all in person AMC events.

The Narragansett Chapter Trails Committee volunteers currently maintain over 60 miles of hiking and multi-use trails in Rhode Island, throughout Arcadia Management Area, Burlingame State Park, Rockville Management Area, and George Washington State Park, including clearing blowdowns, brushing, blazing, building and repairing bridges, building trails and re-routes, installing and maintaining trail signs, mitigating erosion, cleaning up trailside trash, and many other tasks, related to keeping our AMC trails in tip-top condition for thousands to enjoy, every year, for the past 99 years, in Rhode Island. Our Trails Committee meets monthly (via Zoom), to plan, organize, and schedule various trail-work projects. Volunteers to help lead, plan and carry-out trail work activities are always welcome! No prior experience necessary. The Trail-Work projects will then be posted to for volunteers to sign-up!
