AMC offers COVID conscious opportunities to enjoy the outdoors locally, visit many of our lodges and campgrounds, and join virtual events and activities. Participants of all in-person events should bring and wear face coverings, expect social distancing, and changes to our usual practices. To support contact tracing and hands-free signing of the AMC liability waiver, online registration is required for all in person AMC events.

We'll basecamp on an island (Stockport Middle Ground) just north of Hudson, NY. Day paddles include (1) up Stockport Creek to a waterfalls, into a marsh plus the option to visit an 1874 lighthouse and (2) visiting the ruins of an 1885 Hudson River ice house and Rattlesnake Island. This is an outing for experienced paddlers who feel comfortable paddling with tugs, large barges and ocean-going freighters. Sometimes the water gets rough. Be prepared to cross the river. Kayaks must be a minimum of 13.5 ft. and have dual waterproof bulkheads. Bring a bilge pump, spray skirt, extra paddle, first aid kit, food, drinking water and camping gear, including a stove. As per the Club's guidelines, gear & food cannot be shared. PFDs must be worn while on the water. Please review the Club's Covid-19 guidelines while registering. Registration before July 31st is required to participate in this activity.
