Come join me for a moderately paced five to seven-mile hike every Thursday morning at 9:00 am in the Wissahickon Gorge. There are 36 miles of hiking trails in the gorge and over the course of the fall, winter, and early spring we'll discover many of them. Please Note: to join the hike, registration on the AMC web site is required and your registration confirmed by the Hike Leader. Due to Covid-19, everyone needs to bring a mask. Masks should be worn after arriving at the trail head and during trail head talk. Masks may be required on trail if social distancing is not possible at times during the hike. This hike is open to hikers of all levels including new members and beginners. If you are not up to doing the full hike there will be places to bail out and head back to the trailhead. Please bring water and wear layers appropriate for the weather. If there is snow or ice on the ground, please make sure that you have micro-spikes or ice cleats. The distance of the hike will be dependent on the conditions and speed of the group. Well behaved dogs are always welcome. We'll meet at the White Trail Entrance (corner of W. Hortter St & Park Line Dr - 40.036437, -75.198212 ) Bad weather may cancel. If doubtful, please check the status of the hike by 7:30 am Jay Sitkin More Info at: NOTE: there will be no hikes on 11/12, 11/26, and 12/17.
