AMC offers COVID conscious opportunities to enjoy the outdoors locally, visit many of our lodges and campgrounds, and join virtual events and activities. Participants of all in-person events should bring and wear face coverings, expect social distancing, and changes to our usual practices. To support contact tracing and hands-free signing of the AMC liability waiver, online registration is required for all in person AMC events.

Overview

Overview Join us to hike in the beautiful trails in the Waterville Valley, New Hampshire is home to the oldest network of trails in the United States. From breathtaking views to stunning waterfall tours, Waterville Valley is a hikers paradise. If you are redlining the Waterville Valley these hikes will help you achieve your goal. We are offering 5 moderate hikes between 5 to 7 miles roundtrip and elevation gain between 650 to 2000 approximate and we will be hiking once a month from November to March. On Monday December 28 we will be hiking the Greeley Ponds trail to Greeley Ponds from the Route 49 side of the trail. Approximately 7 miles and 900' elevation gain. This is an out and back hike. We will take a small group of 6 hikers on this trip and this is a good hike for a beginner winter hiker. Registration: You will be registering ONLY for this hike when you sign up. You will be able to register for the following hikes ONLY when they are posted individually. These are the dates for our remaining hiking trips: January 11 (Monday) Norway Rapids/The scaur Saturday February 6 (Saturday) Jennings Peak via Sandwich Trail/Drakes Brook Saturday March 6 (Saturday) Mt Tecumseh It is expected that participants have been doing some recent hiking and are able to hike/snowshoe this mileage. Our hike will be at a slow/moderate pace, moving as fast as the slowest hiker. Participants should be willing to adhere to COVID-19 precautions, as well as follow AMC rules regarding COVID-19, which reflect current state guidance. Registration Procedure: Registration is required, and the registration process is multi-step. To begin, you must click Register Now above, enter the required information, and complete the Questionnaire and the Risk and Release Agreement. Subsequently, you will be contacted by the leader, who will describe the next steps of the registration process. Upon completion of all steps, the participants will receive an email from the leader, via the AMC website, stating the participant is a Confirmed participant. Please note, that clicking on the Register Now button for RSVPing to this outing does not confirm registration. Only hikers who are of Confirmed registration status may join this hike.
