Date and Time

Sunday, January 10, 2021

Massachusetts, Central,

Registration is required for this activity.

Enjoy a winter hike in the northern Quabbin woods from Gate 30 over the Keystone Bridge, through Bullard's Corner a former stagecoach stop and tavern. Hike past isolated and rugged Rattlesnake Hill then through a notch which separates it from Pitman Hill. Our hike continues to the shore of the reservoir with great views to the south. This easy to moderate hike is about 7 miles over flat and rolling terrain and along some abandoned forest roads. We will hike at an easy to moderate pace (1-2mph). Winter footwear, snowshoes/traction, and proper winter clothing will be required. Hikers who attended the Worcester Chapter's Winter Hiking Workshop on 11/21 will have registration preference. Others will be wait listed and allowed on about 3 weeks prior to the hike if room permits. Important reminders: You need to bring a mask and hand sanitizer. We will follow the state of Mass regulations at the time of the hike regarding the use of masks and other covid protocols.
