Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site,
Join the weekly Sunday morning hike starting from Hopewell Furnace. We will hike all trails of both parks from this central location over multiple weeks. Expect a moderate pace for around 7 to 9 miles. This hike is AMC rated "vigorous" due to it being over 8 miles long. The rating is also 2C7-9, the same as the past few months. We will take time to stop for breaks at the top of hills and as needed. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED for the hike using the registration button on this posting. Expect to wear your mask at circle up, when passing others on the trail and when social distancing is not possible. Keep spaced apart when stopping at breaks so fellow hikers can get a drink or snack as needed. I want to limit the hike to 10 people total, so don't come when you are on the waitlist unless I specifically contact you. Please no walk-ups either. Thanks for keeping your reservations up-to-date. Location: Google search for Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site. The street address is 2 Mark Bird Ln, Elverson, PA 19520. The GPS coordinates are 40.206883,-75.773947. Modern facilities under the visitor's center to the right. Be ready to circle up at 9:00 AM and we will leave soon after. We should finish up before 1:30. Bring extra water, a mask, hand sanitizer plus a snack. There is limited cell phone coverage in the park, so contact a hike leader before the hike if you are not sure of the start location. No dogs on this hike please.
