AMC offers COVID conscious opportunities to enjoy the outdoors locally, visit many of our lodges and campgrounds, and join virtual events and activities. Participants of all in-person events should bring and wear face coverings, expect social distancing, and changes to our usual practices. Overview

This weekend is designed for active adults seeking to learn new outdoor skills and enjoy great hiking among good company in Crawford Notch. Participants will learn essential skills such as: hiking safety, map reading and basic compass skills , Leave No Trace©, camp cooking, and more. Hikes will be moderately challenging, including a potential summit attempt on a nearby peak. Program Highlights: Participants will learn outdoor skills: Hiking Safety with Spring Considerations (stream crossings, snow, ice, inclement weather) Map reading How to pack a pack and what to carry Leave No Trace Natural history
