Overview

*This project will take place on the Lonesome Lake Trail. Folks under 18 are welcome with a parent or guardian. Due to limited parking, van transportation will be provided from the Cannon Tram parking lot to the Lonesome Lake Trailhead. Come join AMC Trails staff on June 5, National Trails Day! We'll be completing a variety of stewardship projects on the Lonesome Lake Trail in Franconia Notch. Trained Crew Leaders will provide guidance on trail maintenance at the work site. Priorities may change based on weather and conditions, so we will not have detailed information on your crew's specific project until you arrive. Projects may include: clearing or building drainage ditches, brushing back vegetation, constructing bog bridges, or working with timber logs to make checksteps. Our volunteer trail crews are designed to accommodate all levels of prior experience safely and enjoyably; your leaders will teach you the needed trail work techniques. This work day will run from 9am to 3pm, with a break for lunch. For decreased COVID-19 risk, we will keep our group sizes small and ask that folks bring their own gloves, food, water, and face masks. Antibacterial wipes and hand sanitizer will be provided.
