AMC offers COVID conscious opportunities to enjoy the outdoors locally, visit many of our lodges and campgrounds, and join virtual events and activities. Participants of all in-person events should bring and wear face coverings, expect social distancing, and changes to our usual practices. THIS HIKE WAS SCHEDULED 2/07/CANCELLED BECAUSE OF A SNOW. i HAVE A LIST OF THE PREVIOUS PEOPLE CONIRMED FOR 2/7 AND WILL GIVE THEM UNITL 2/28 TO RE-SIGN UP... BEFORE OPENING IT TO OTHERS. NEW and REQUIRED: PRE- REGISTER HERE AND RSVP @ https://www.meetup.com/AMC-CT-Chapter/ Meetup has more info + last minute changes/comments, etc. IF accepted AMC emails you a "Confirmation" . SORRY limited # due to COVID. Please cancel on the AMC site and Meetup site don't comment at least 48 hours+ in advance so waitlist can attend. We will hike 10+ miles to summits of Case and Birch Mountains and beyond with commanding views of Hartford, waterfalls and old carriage roads. BE PREPARED: For advanced hikers only 10-12 miles fast paced hike with few stops Rated "Strenuous". Stay with the group, If you are having trouble let leader know early and help others. Grew up in NH climbing/camping in the Whites starting with Mt. Washington when I was 8. Enjoyed backpacking/climbing trips to Torres Del Paine, Sequoia, Canadian Rockies, Mount Whitney... and most of the mountains in NE. Like to find new places or ways to hike in CT to keep it interesting and introduce people to climbing, backpacking, and paddling. . Look forward to meeting new friends with the CT AMC and seeing my CHA friend

I love backpacking and hiking. Looking forward to exploring with all of you Connecticut nature, history, and legends.. Eugenia has climbed 47/48 NH 4Ks, Mtn.. Washington in winter and the highest mtn. in the lower 48 Mtn. Whitney. She has backpacked in the Canadian Rockies, Patagonia, Grand Canyon and many places in NE and is a talented mosaic artist and nature photographer.
