These hikes are designed for active, fit participants interested in summiting some 4000+ foot peaks in the White Mountains. Participants may be after the 48 peaks or just interested in some moderately challenging hiking in the White Mountains with a group. The program will start with a welcome session where you will meet and greet other group members and guides. Going over the day's route, our professional guides will cover what to expect during the hike including terrain, trail conditions, weather, hiking safety, a recommended gear list, Leave No Trace, and more. Guides will point out interesting flora/fauna and local history along the hike. The group will attempt to hike at least one 4000 footer, but actual hiking destinations may vary based on weather and trail conditions. We'll attempt to summit Mt. Waumbek & Starr King, via the Starr King Trail. This moderate 4000 footer hike follows the Starr King Trail for 3.6 miles, gaining approximately 2400 feet in elevation. Round trip 7.2 miles, 6-8 hours.
