Women's crew to do boundary maintenance in Cheshire. We will meet same time and place as the mixed group on the same project but then do a different section of the boundary. Maintaining these boundaries is essential to preserving the AT hiking experience in the narrow trail corridor. Work includes hiking off-trail while clipping brush, painting blazes and installing signs. Part of the boundary is on slopes with uneven footing and thick brush. Participants will travel 4-6 miles on this all-day event. Bring lunch, snacks and plenty of water, bug and tick repellant/head net. Dress for the weather, which may vary during the day. Paint will not wash out of clothing--don't wear your best outfit. Wear sturdy footwear. Bring your own work gloves, loppers if you have them, face covering and hand sanitizer. If you have a high visibility vest (orange or similar bright color), please bring that as well.
