This is the first of six hikes to cover the Connecticut portion of the AT. Many of us have done these sections hikes lead by David Roberts. Our intention is to cover the whole section in 6 hikes. Leaders / co-leaders for subsequent section hikes are welcome. If you would like to lead, please contact me (I can supply the wording that David used). Please note that this is one of our more strenuous hikes. 8 miles, moderate pace, average / strenuous terrain: 1,800 ft vertical, with two long but steady climbs. Nice river walk and some great views. We will hike from Bulls Bridge south on the AT along the Housatonic River, over Ten Mile River and up Ten Mile Hill, then follow the Herrick Trail down to Rte 55 for a short road walk, before returning north on the AT to Bulls Bridge. Steady rain cancels. Meet at 9.15 am for a 9.30 am start at the Bulls Bridge Parking Lot. Registration is required. Please send an email to L to register.
