Overview

Come join AMC Trails Staff on the Grafton Loop Trail in Maine on July 22! We'll be completing a variety of stewardship projects on the the Grafton Loop Trail in Grafton Notch. Trained Crew Leaders will provide guidance on trail maintenance at the work site. Priorities may change based on weather and conditions, so we will not have detailed information on your crew's specific project until you arrive. Projects may include: clearing or building drainage ditches, brushing back vegetation, constructing bog bridges, or working with timber logs to make checksteps. Our volunteer trail crews are designed to accommodate all levels of prior experience safely and enjoyably; your leaders will teach you the needed trail work techniques. This work day will run from 9am to 3pm, with a break for lunch. For decreased COVID-19 risk, we will keep our group sizes small and ask that folks bring their own gloves, food, water, and face masks. We provide instruction from an AMC Trails staff member, helmets, and all tools. Leader will have a first aid kit and extra masks and gloves, as well as antibacterial wipes and hand sanitizer. Our volunteer trail crews are designed to accommodate all levels of prior experience safely and enjoyably; your leaders will teach you the needed trail work techniques. Please note that Grafton Notch is fairly remote and cell phone coverage is spotty. Coming from Bethel/Route 2, there will be a sign for the Grafton Loop Trail about 4 miles up Route 26, and the lot is on your right. It's a small parking lot, so please carpool.
