Beginners, old timers, and regulars, enjoy a real country getaway and a great hike. This will be 4 mile hike in Putnam County, Garrison, NY. Our hike will take place on regular hiking trails including some unpaved carriage roads. Expect a few hills but at a slower pace. Bring lunch and plenty to drink. We'll hike at a moderate pace, about 2.5 mph when flat and slow down to enjoy the scenery and wildlife. Public Transportation: Metro North Hudson Line- Grand Central Station, board the 7:45 AM train to Garrison. Arrive in Garrison at 9:06 a.m. The train is an express, so you'll need to pick it up either at Grand Central Station at 7:45 a.m. or at Harlem-125th St. at 7:56 AM. Sit on the left side of the train and enjoy some outstanding views of the Hudson River all the way up to Garrison. Drivers: Meet 9:00 a.m. at the Garrison, NY train station. Free parking. Restrooms will not be available. Use the restrooms on the train before arriving at Garrison. Bring lunch, sun protection, tick repellent and comfortable footwear.. CDC rules will apply. Preliminary COVID-19 Statement: All participants must 1) be free of COVID-19 infection to their knowledge 2) carry face masks 3) carry hand sanitizer of at least 60% alcohol and 4) be prepared to observe social distancing. A lengthier and more detailed waiver is filed with registration.
