Overview

SKI TERRAIN SCOUTING HIKE - for skiers who want to explore ski terrain close to home. 8 - 10 miles. We'll explore an abandoned ski area and surrounding terrain for good places to ski. Some trail hiking, some bushwhacking. Moderate pace but the terrain could be daunting (steep, thick woods, off-trail route-finding). Map and compass skills very helpful. FOR SKIERS ONLY, otherwise you may find this hike boring, or just plain strange. We'll probably miss the best views because we'll be looking for places that look good for skiing. REGISTRATION REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS HIKE. L will inform registrants of exact meeting location for hike. Contact L with any questions. Co-leader in training Martin Egan. Despite the easing of Covid-19 restrictions - out of consideration for all people who share the trails with us, all participants 1) must be free of COVID-19 infection to their knowledge 2) should carry face masks 3) should carry hand sanitizer of at least 60% alcohol and 4) should be prepared to observe social distancing.
