Overview

We will maintain the boundary of Appalachian Trail Corridor Lands near Gore Pond, one of the highest ponds in Mass. The work is off-trail and there is an approx 2 mile moderate hike to the starting point of the project. The work consists of following the boundary line, clearing brush, repainting blazes and replacing any missing signs. We will be in the woods all day in a remote area. Dress for the weather, bring lunch, water, work gloves and an extra layer for warmth. Wear sturdy shoes, and clothes that can get paint on them. Total miles for the day is around 8 miles. Project will be rescheduled if it is raining or snowing. Leader will contact participants in advance. Meet at the Fish and Wildlife gate near Bedard car dealership, Rt 8, Cheshire.
