Overview

Join us for a day of skinning-up and skiing-down Loon Mountain. This event is tailored towards those new to uphill travel or could use more practice. Participants should be proficient downhill skiers / snowboarders, capable of comfortably navigating intermediate or advanced downhill slopes. The event is open to those using split boards, alpine touring or telemark gear though instructor familiarity is limited to alpine touring and telemark equipment. Rentals are available in Lincoln and there will be alpine touring and telemark instructors available to teach basics on attaching skins, switching bindings, efficient climbing techniques and heat management. Participants should also be capable of climbing 2,000 - 4,000 vertical feet. We will have fast and slow groups so you can climb at a comfortable pace. Registration is required with a $10 fee to cover instructor passes. Contact the leader for questions and further details.
