Overview

Here is your opportunity to try Telemark skiing with rental gear and instruction. Why Telemark? This style of skiing with a free-heel provides seamless backcountry mobility from flat terrain to Mt Washington. Boots are more comfortable with a flexible bellows at the toes. It is an aerobic sport that builds leg strength and balance. For the price of a lift pass (TBD) we will offer nordic, novice, intermediate, and advanced instructors to challenge and learn new techniques. Rental boots and skis are available from Gunstock resort for most foot sizes (check availability). For nordic skiers, this is a chance to learn to turn on your backcountry touring gear. We will also cover snowplow, hockey stops, and telemark. Registration is required. Signup now and start practicing lunges. Free your heel and the mind will follow.

Jeff has been leading resort and backcountry telemark trips and clinics for 20+ years. He skies all over New England, from local golf course to Tuckerman ravine. He prefers backcountry powder when available (don't we all?).
