Date and Time

Mount Cabot,
New Hampshire, White Mountains,
MA United States

Registration is required for this activity.

Winter is coming! And to the North we shall go! Join us for a day trip to the northernmost 4000 footer in the White Mountains, Mount Cabot (4,170'). Sitting within the New Hampshire's Pilot Range, Mount Cabot was named in honor of the Italian explorer Sebastian Cabot. This is a 9.6 mile out and back hike with approximately 3,000 feet of elevation gain. We will hike at a moderate pace (1.5-2 mph). Planned route is York Pond Trail, to Bunnell Notch Trail to the Kilkenny Ridge Trail, which then climbs steeply towards Mt Cabot. Nearby it's wooded summit is a no-frills cabin where we can take shelter for lunch and enjoy views to the west (weather dependent of course). To address unforeseen challenges such as adverse weather, unacceptable trail conditions or excessive crowding, the planned trip destination, activity and/or meeting place and time may be modified. In that event, participants may elect to join in that activity or opt out. All leaders and participants must bring a mask on the hike for emergency purposes but are not required to wear it during hiking.
