Registration is required for this activity.

Join us for an above treeline winter day hike to summit Mt Jefferson (5,712') the third highest peak in the Whites - an 11 mile round trip with 4,200 ft of elevation gain. Depending on weather conditions, be prepared for a strenuous 10-12 hour hike. Expect full winter conditions with cold, wind, deep snow and the possibility of breaking trail. Please be an experienced winter hiker in good physical condition, with full winter gear including crampons, snowshoes, face protection and above-treeline wind layers. All leaders and participants must bring a mask on the hike for emergency purposes but are not required to wear it during hiking. To address unforeseen challenges such as adverse weather, unacceptable trail conditions or excessive crowding, the planned trip destination, activity and/or meeting place and time may be modified. In that event, participants may elect to join in that activity or opt-out.
