White Mountains, New Hampshire,
New Hampshire, White Mountains,
Join us for an above treeline winter day hike to the summit of Mt Moosilauke (4,802') the tenth highest and the most westerly of the New Hampshire 4,000 footers - an approximate 8 mile round trip with 2,500 ft of elevation gain. Depending on weather conditions, be prepared for a strenuous 6-8 hour hike. Expect full winter conditions with cold, wind, deep snow and the possibility of breaking trail. Please be an experienced winter hiker in good physical condition, with full winter gear including crampons, snowshoes, face protection and above-treeline wind layers. All leaders and participants must bring a mask on the hike for emergency purposes but are not required to wear it during hiking. To address unforeseen challenges such as adverse weather, unacceptable trail conditions or excessive crowding, the planned trip destination, activity and/or meeting place and time may be modified. In that event, participants may elect to join in that activity or opt-out.
COVID 19 Information: As of December 1, 2021 AMC requires volunteers be vaccinated or receive a negative PCR test within 72 hours of the start of an event. AMC relies on the honor system for compliance. Participants may be required to wear masks, provide proof of vaccination, or in the alternative a current (within 72 hours) negative PCR test as a condition of attending this event. For your personal safety, you should expect to be in the presence of vaccinated and unvaccinated people in all AMC settings and should make choices about participating accordingly.
