Overview

Join us for a challenging and exhilarating winter backpack traverse of the Twins & Bonds! We'll get a very early start on Saturday morning. We'll hike over one or both of the Twins, plus Mt. Bond, West Bond, and Bondcliff. The exact route will depend on the weather and river conditions at the time of the trip. Saturday will be challenging day, with a total of 11-12 miles and over 4400 ft of elevation. We will overnight at the Guyot tentsite/lean-to on Saturday night. If we make good progress and have the right weather, we will enjoy a spectacular sunset on West Bond. Sunday will be another long day with a hike of 11 miles, but with much of it downhill. This trip is for intermediate/advanced hikers with prior experience backpacking and 10+ mile winter hiking. The pace will be moderate but with heavy backpacks and long days. All leaders and participants must bring a mask on the backpack for emergency purposes but are not required to wear it during hiking. To address unforeseen challenges such as adverse weather, unacceptable trail conditions or excessive crowding, the planned trip destination, activity and/or meeting place and time may be modified. In that event, participants may elect to join in that activity or opt out.
