XC Ski: Waterville Valley

Join us for a day of skiing on Waterville Valley's 70+ km network of groomed trails. We will explore the intermediate trails at a moderate pace. Bring your lunch or buy one from the cafe. Due to COVID, we may be eating outdoors or in our cars. Ability Level: Skiers with some experience on intermediate blue trails will enjoy this trip. Gear List: Nordic XC skis/boots/poles for machine cut tracks, bring your own or rent from the nordic center. Small daypack or fanny pack with 1l water, snacks, spare jacket, lip balm/chapstick, sunglasses, spare gloves, and balaclava or hat. Wear clothing, gloves, hat, glasses/goggles per expected weather.

AMC Trip Policy

COVID 19 Information: As of December 1, 2021 AMC requires volunteers be vaccinated or receive a negative PCR test within 72 hours of the start of an event. AMC relies on the honor system for compliance. Participants may be required to wear masks, provide proof of vaccination, or in the alternative a current (within 72 hours) negative PCR test as a condition of attending this event. For your personal safety, you should expect to be in the presence of vaccinated and unvaccinated people in all AMC settings and should make choices about participating accordingly.


Adult: $24 member / $24 non-member
*Participants will self-pay $24.daily trail fee. Rental equipment is $25.

Ben enjoys XC skiing at touring centers and in the backcountry. He has been leading trips with the AMC for over 10 years.


Laurie is a long time member of the Boston chapter of the AMC. She's x-country skied in many venues in western Mass, New Hampshire and Vermont. In February she'll be joining Mike Barry and Jim Hutchinson for a back country ski adventure in the Maine back woods. While Laurie enjoys skiing, her true passion is biking.
