Overnight on the Connecticut River at a quiet campsite having only canoe and kayak access. There are designated spots for tents or folks can share the open sided Adirondack shelter. This is a primitive campsite (no running water) though there is an outhouse. Participants need to bring their own water (a gallon is recommended per person) and food (2 lunches, dinner, breakfast and snacks). The first day will require 7 miles of paddling - with a break for lunch - before making camp. After a leisurely breakfast, 8 more miles of paddling will bring us to the Barton Cove takeout. Life Jackets are required to be worn on the water. Participants are responsible for providing their own boats, camping gear and food as well as transporting all in their boats.
COVID 19 Information: As of December 1, 2021 AMC requires volunteers be vaccinated or receive a negative PCR test within 72 hours of the start of an event. AMC relies on the honor system for compliance. Participants may be required to wear masks, provide proof of vaccination, or in the alternative a current (within 72 hours) negative PCR test as a condition of attending this event. For your personal safety, you should expect to be in the presence of vaccinated and unvaccinated people in all AMC settings and should make choices about participating accordingly.
