With Joe Dodge Lodge as our base, join AMC Outdoor Guides on guided day hikes on Mount Washington, taking in summit views, discovering rare alpine plants, and learning all about the unique natural history of the White Mountains. Weather permitting, we'll have the chance to drive the Mount Washington Auto Road and hike above treeline in the Alpine Garden and up to the summit of Washington. After a day above the trees, we'll explore the beautiful hardwood and boreal forests of Pinkham Notch with chances to see stunning waterfalls and rocky ravines. This program is designed for active adults that are interested in hiking moderately challenging terrain with a group while learning about the natural and cultural history of the surrounding mountains. Trails to be hiked will be chosen by the AMC Outdoor Guides, decisions will be based on weather, and the interest and ability of the group. This event does NOT include a hike from the base the summit of Mount Washington, but rather moderate day hikes on the mountain exploring the area and learning about the natural environment. AMC's COVID response priorities are safety, transparency, and mission. We continue to follow the science and recommendations from CDC. This includes a vaccination requirement for all participants in this program. Exemptions: AMC understands that medical or religious exemptions must be considered.
