I have been leading backpacking trips for the Appalachian Mountain Club and the Adirondack Mountain Club since 1975. I enjoy taking the time to look at the scenery and have a relatively slow pace. I am patient with beginners and enjoy helping them learn new skills.

I enjoy backpacking, hiking, kayaking, and cycling to name a few - really anything outdoors especially in wilderness. Originally from Massachusetts, I have been living in Northern Virginia since graduating from college. In the past I have lead backpacking and day hikes in and around Shenandoah National Park, various places along the AT, Monongahela National Forest to name a few which have been my favorite activities for over 20 years. Normally, I try for less crowded areas.
