Come explore the scenic river valley west of the Connecticut River in the Pioneer Valley north of Amherst MA. This ride will be 32 miles in length, with a few steep, but short climbs and flat to rolling terrain. Total elevation gain over the ride is about 1200 feet. We will be cycling on quiet, well-paved country roads through lush farmlands, traveling through Hatfield, Whately, Greenfield, Deerfield, and South Deerfield. We'll take a snack and restroom break in scenic Old Deerfield Village. The pace will be relaxed at 12-13 mph average, and we will keep the group together. We will regroup at various points along the way. You will need a road bike in good working order, a helmet, a fix-flat kit, water and snacks.
COVID 19 Information: As of December 1, 2021 AMC requires volunteers be vaccinated or receive a negative PCR test within 72 hours of the start of an event. AMC relies on the honor system for compliance. Participants may be required to wear masks, provide proof of vaccination, or in the alternative a current (within 72 hours) negative PCR test as a condition of attending this event. For your personal safety, you should expect to be in the presence of vaccinated and unvaccinated people in all AMC settings and should make choices about participating accordingly.
