Join SheJumps and the AMC Boston Chapter for a women's specific x country ski weekend in the heart of Maine's 100-Mile Wilderness. The setting for this 3 day adventure will be amongst towering pines and sprawling lakes with authentic Maine hospitality at Gorman Chairback Lodge and cabins. This moderate nordic ski adventure is suitable for all levels. Friday we will travel light through the backcountry on 8 miles of groomed but untracked trails to get to our accommodations for the weekend. Our personal belongings will be shuttled in and will be awaiting us along with a toasty fire upon our arrival at the lodge. Rustic and charming lodging will be bunkhouse style in a comfortable gas-lit cabin warmed by wood stoves. Modern amenities include hot shower and a wood fired sauna available at the main lodge. Hearty family style meals will be served amongst like-minded people enjoying the picturesque Maine Woods. Breakfasts, trail lunch and dinner will be provided by the AMC during your stay. Saturday will ski around Long Pond - 10.2 miles round trip. There will be an optional gentle yoga class back at the lodge. Sunday will ski the 8 mile trail back to our vehicles. We are excited to have you join us for an evening of women-centered adventure and community building.
