UT
Southern Utah is home to some of the most unique and beautiful landscapes in the world and offers an unforgettable hiking experience. Join us as we visit two dramatically different Utah National Parks which attract visitors from all over the world! Zion is known for its narrow steep colorful rock domes, walls and arches. Bryce Canyon is known for its awe-inspiring canyon populated by 'hoodoo' rock formations and sculpted multi-color landscapes. Both will yield exhilarating and memorable hiking experiences high up on the rim and down in the workings of the canyons. Springtime is the best time to visit the high desert and sandstone canyons here. The desert flowers will be in bloom and the waterfalls will be racing into the canyons. We will begin our journey by flying into Las Vegas and spending the night before departing for Zion with a stop in Nevada's Valley of Fire State Park along the way. Over the next four days we will explore and hike in Zion by visiting the West Rim, East Rim, and the famous Kolob Arch. We will then head to the Bryce area for three days of hiking. Highlights will include peering at the amazing canyon from Bryce Canyon Rim Trail. Bryce has other gems for us to explore and hike, via trails with names such as Peak-a-Boo, Queen's Garden, and Fairy Land. We will return to Las Vegas and spend our last night, reflecting on our most amazing adventure before returning home the next day. This trip is rated as Vigorous/Strenuous (5/6). Hikes may be up to 14 miles on a couple of days with significant elevation gain and loss. There is a mix of more moderate hikes on days in between. tahAccommodations will be in three-star hotels for the entirety of the trip. Included meals are breakfast provided by our hotel and dinner at a local restaurant each day. Transportation will be by rented minivans with an occasional hiker shuttle.
