Overview

This program is for AMC members who are interested in organizing and leading front-country activities and trips for the AMC Boston Chapter. Completion of the program qualifies participants to co-lead front-country/local trips and activities alongside an experienced leader. The program consists of lectures, small group exercises, and role-play scenarios. Topics include trip planning and trip organization, safety, and leadership approaches. The program emphasizes experiential learning and decision-making skills and is open to all AMC members with preference given to those who have actively participated in AMC events and trips. This training is a full day session in Milton, Massachusetts This program is suitable for those who intend to only lead front-country activities. Those who intend to lead backcountry activities must take the multi-day leadership program.
