Experience a classic cross-country ski adventure on the edge of Norway's Rondane National Park. We will be skiing on the Venabygdsfjellet plateau, known for its excellent snow record and a ski season that lasts through April's annual Lillehammer Troll Ski Marathon. There's something for everyone with vast open spaces, sheltered forests, friendly gradients, and challenging hills (for those who enjoy them). We will be spending our time together in a family-run hotel that specializes in cross-country skiing with on-site ski rentals and 140 km of trails right outside our door. Our host family offers ski lessons, guided ski tours, and off-piste outings. Additional options include snowshoeing, dog sledding, and sleigh riding. At the end of each day we'll enjoy our host's warm hospitality and delicious food in an authentic "fjellhotell" built in the cozy Norwegian mountain style. The price includes just about everything you need for a fun ski trip: 7 nights lodging, 7 breakfasts, 7 lunches, 7 dinners, 5 guided ski tours, 1 day snowshoe tour or ski safari, fully equipped ski rentals, and roundtrip bus transfer from the Oslo airport directly to our hotel. A limited number of single rooms may be available at an additional cost. The cost of drinks and incidentals - essentially anything not specifically detailed above, is not included in the price. Round-trip airfare is not included and flight information will be provided. Throughout our time together we will endeavor to enjoy and understand this unique region via the AMC's mission of education, conservation, and appreciation of the natural world.
