This weekend is designed for adults seeking to learn new skills and is perfect for those who want to feel more prepared and confident with outdoor adventures. Participants will learn essential skills including hiking safety considerations, map reading, basic compass use, route planning, Leave No Trace, basics of clothing, gear, and more. This weekend will feature classroom sessions as well as active learning opportunities on the trail. Hikes will be moderate and may include a summit attempt of a nearby peak. This weekend is based out of our full-service Highland Center lodge with experienced AMC Outdoor Guides. Participants will learn outdoor skills: Hiking safety with seasonal considerations Gear suggestions and clothing layering systems appropriate for winter Map reading, basic compass use, and route planning Leave No Trace Local natural history

Adult: $580 member / $720 non-member
*Lodging on Friday and Saturday nights Members of the same party sharing a Lodge room are charged a reduced per person rate All meals from dinner on the first night to lunch on the last day Free use of equipment and clothing from the L.L.
