Overview

Embark on a Hut to Hut hiking adventure along the iconic Presidential Peaks in the heart of the White Mountains, a journey that not only promises the grandeur of the Northeast's highest peaks but also offers an unforgettable community and connection to nature. This trip is designed for nature enthusiasts eager to immerse themselves in the rugged beauty of the White Mountains while enjoying the camaraderie of fellow hikers and the expertise of our knowledgeable AMC Guides. Our journey will begin at AMC's Joe Dodge Lodge, a cozy and welcoming base where the group will meet for the first time. This initial meeting is a chance to connect as a group and the guides will review the plan for the weekend, expectations, safety protocol, gear, weather conditions, etc. and will be a chance to make sure everyone is feeling confident and prepared about the trip to come. Gear will be available to borrow at no extra cost. Our next morning will be the start of our hike to Madison Spring Hut, traversing lush forest trails that gradually give way to rugged, rocky terrain as you ascend. Along the way, your guides will share insights into the unique ecology and natural history of the area, enriching the experience with fascinating insights and stories. Once arriving at the Hut, we'll be greeted with warm hospitality and breathtaking vistas. An optional summit attempt of Mt Madison may be possible, time and weather permitting. The group enjoy a hearty family style meal before getting some rest in the shared bunkrooms. After a restful night and family style breakfast, we will depart on the rocky trail that will lead us along the ridgeline of the Presidential Range. We'll spend the day hiking above the trees with panoramic vistas of sprawling valleys and rugged peaks stretching into the horizon, enjoying one of the most scenic trails of the White Mountains. Interest, time, and weather permitting, hikers will have the opportunity to summit some of New England's highest peaks, including Mt Adams, Mt Jefferson, and Mt Washington. The day culminates at Lakes of the Clouds Hut, perched on the ridge with sweeping views of the valley below. In the morning, we'll depart for our hike along the Southern range, with another day of sweeping views and opportunities to summit Mt. Monroe, Mt. Eisenhower, and Mt. Pierce. The trail eventually into the boreal forest as we near Mizpah Spring Hut, our destination for the final evening. Relax and enjoy the company of fellow hikers as we share stories of our day's adventure. Our final morning, the group will descend the trail to the Highland Center, where we will wrap up and depart. Join us on this incredible adventure!
